I started attending Kushala Yoga Studio over 5 years ago for massage treatments with RMT Darla Ricka because of back issues. It was Darla who suggested for me to try yoga. Three years ago, I decided to try the Restorative Yoga session at first and since then, I have been attending to numerous yoga classes from All Levels, Deep Stretch Yin, Therapeutic, Core, Pilates, Hips and Back classes on a regular basis (4-6 times a week). The owners/teachers Chris Dunphy and Karen Andersen are great and they have created a wellness community for everyone. They have a great team of yoga teachers, RMT, Acupuncturist and other professionals services the studio provides. I would highly recommend anyone who wants to try yoga and use their other services which I personally have also used.

Kushala sparked a small healing amber in my life 10 years ago. It has grown to a steady flame, gently nurtured at Kushala Yoga by a wonderful, dedicated community of teachers, mentors and fellow participants. I step from the outer world to my inner sanctuary when I come to my mat at Kushala.
I have been participating in classes at Kushala Yoga for over six years. Karen and Chris keep things fresh with an array of classes to accommodate rank beginners as well as those who want a more challenging workout. Workshops scattered throughout the year provide interesting information on health and well-being. The instructors are well-qualified and caring. I highly recommend the studio.

The first time I entered Kushala, it felt like I was at home. I was looking for a yoga studio with an inviting lobby – a place to enjoy tea before or after a class – and Kushala has just that. For me, yoga unites the mind, body and spirit. This is a value shared by Kushala. Every class starts with a short meditation and the instructors offer cues through the class to strengthen both the body and the mind. Before I attended my first class I had the fortunate opportunity to attend an information session where I met the owners, Karen and Chris. They are incredibly genuine people and shared many insights of their passion for and knowledge of yoga. The varied class types and times makes it incredibly easy for me to find a class that fits into my schedule and fits my interests. I am so glad I found Kushala Yoga and would recommend it to anyone.
I am just now understanding the real meaning of core strength, balance and flexibility. This class has benefited me in my yoga practice and every day living. I would encourage anyone to take this class and especially someone just starting out.

With the diversified class schedule, I can find the class and time for my particular needs. Each instructor is professional and brings his/her own flavour and personality to his/her classes. Also, I’m always eager to read about the latest offerings of workshops and events as I enjoy expanding my knowledge and ability base.

Free time is a rare commodity for working moms so when we have it, we make it count. Kushala Yoga classes are time well spent. They help me calm down after a busy day at the office or a crazy day at home. Practicing of self care and mindfulness allows me to give more back to my family and career. I highly recommend it.
