Alignment Workshops with Heather
Alignment, according to John Friend, is the “mindful awareness of how various parts of ourselves are integrated and interconnected.” With this in mind alignment means physically lining up with principles and techniques so that we can feel freedom in the body and mind.
In this 2 part worskshop series, we will explore why and how techniques and principles of alignment are employed both on and off the mat.
PART 1 – SET the FOUNDATION
Nov 28th 11am – 2pm
In “Set the Foundation”, Heather takes you through the basics of alignment and explores the primary energy flows in commonly practiced poses. The practice will focus on standing poses with some seated positions. Open to all levels
PART 2 – REFINE & EXPAND
Dec 5th 11am – 2pm
In part 2 your understanding of how and why to align is refined and expanded as you explore secondary flows of energy. You will dive deeper into alignment by exploring the techniques in hip openers and backbends. Open to all levels
Heather is a student of Anusara yoga. She brings a lighthearted approach to asana (posture practice) and the belief that “When we let this moment be enough we open to the possibility of becoming more.”
Cost: $35 / session or both for $60
