Sophia Muñoz

Sophia discovered yoga during a period of burnout when she felt disconnected from her body and unsure how to find her way back to herself. What began as a simple practice gradually became an anchor, helping her reconnect with movement, rest, and self-compassion. That journey eventually inspired her to found The Karuna Movement, a coaching and education practice that helps women recover from burnout, better understand their hormones, and reconnect with themselves through body literacy, movement, and compassionate self-care.
A graduate of Kushala Yoga’s Teacher Training program, Sophia is also an Animal Flow Level 1 Instructor and is currently completing her certification with the Institute for Menstrual Health. She is passionate about helping women better understand their bodies and believes that body literacy is one of the most empowering forms of self-care.
After moving from North Vancouver to Port Moody several years ago, she quickly fell in love with the community and never looked back. When she’s not teaching, you’ll likely find her exploring local trails or visiting a dog park with her dog, Emmy. Sophia’s classes offer a welcoming space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and move with curiosity, kindness, and care.
