Sunrise Yoga

Sunrise Yoga is an all-levels yoga class specifically designed for what your body and mind most need after waking up in the morning. Sunrise is one of the best times to practice yoga, it presents the opportunity for you to create physical energy and mental focus for the day ahead.

Sunrise Yoga is a vigorous practice that will help your body flush away toxins, keep your organs healthy, and improve your sense of vitality. The class begins with a meditation to clear the mind, and to set your intentions and goals for the new day. Next you will be instructed in breathing techniques (pranayama) to vitalize your body and mind. Then you will be guided through sun salutations, a series of postures to wake up glandular systems of the body, and warm up the muscles and joints. After the body is feeling awake and energized, postures will then be held for longer, to remove deep patterns of stiffness in the soft tissues, and to build strength. The class will close with a relaxation (savasana) to heal and restore your mind and body.

Recommended yoga experience: none required
