  1. Introduction for the week’s practice
  2. Breathing exercises to calm and center the mind
  3. Guided visualization with an object of focus that gradually builds your meditation ‘muscle’
  4. Silent sitting period that helps you practice on your own
  5. Take home meditation techniques and/or exercises to practice during the week to instantly center your mind

Style of Meditation

The meditation style is based on Vedantic and Buddhist ideas about the mind being an energy body. We refer to your ‘experience’ and your ‘awareness’ of your body as the object of focus to help us move to a place of still awareness, a nothing space of clarity and inner knowing. You will receive guidance a3onger than 30 minutes on your own, you will find this class helpful.

About Saima, the Facilitator

Saima Shah has facilitated meditation classes in the Tri-Cities for over 4 years and her clients have found the style very helpful to develop and maintain their independent meditation practice. Her style invokes a modern interpretation of ancient philosophy that is accessible to beginners and more advanced practitioners. The class is active and provides the opportunity for movement at suitable intervals. Saima’s approach is an imaginative and fun way to experience the workings of the inner mind. She holds a ‘’safe’’ space, where each practitioner is gently supported to release and let go of the week.

  • Meditation cushion if you have one, if not props are supplied or available for purchase
  • Wear clothes that can stretch easily

This class runs on Sunday evenings from 7pm – 8:15pm.
